GoCleanCo cleaning company offers tips and tricks to keeping your home spotless. With 2.2million followers behind her, it’s clear that Founder, Director and CEO Sarah McAllister has some nifty hacks.
GoCleanCo posted a PSA to their following saying “vacuum your mattresses.”
She added: “I won’t go into the gory details about what lives in your bed but feel free to use your imagination.”
Under the post there are 958 comments already, with either users sharing that it’s their go-to cleaning method, or that they’re embarrassed to say they haven’t tried it (yet).
Good Housekeeping voted that the Dyson V7 Trigger was the best handheld cleaner out of over 100 models.
One cleaning enthusiast, Tammy Sharb, commented: “I do this all the time and have for years!! My allergist recommended it!”
Another account, Jen and JR Omohundro said: “What?! Never thought to vacuum them.”
They added: “Now running to the vacuum.”
Many comments encouraged people to use different vacuum attachments on their mattresses than on their dirty floors.
The Spruce recommends that you hoover your mattress at least once per month.
If someone at home has allergies, this should be even more frequent.

Dust, dust mites, pet dander, crumbs of food, dead skin, makeup remnants and hair are no strangers to your seemingly spotless mattress.
According to an academic paper called Fungal Contamination of Bedding, by Caroline B Moore, adults may produce up to 100 litres of sweat in bed every year, which could lead to fungal build-up.
So, get hoovering that mattress.
Your Christmas guests will thank you for it.
