Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after she started to share unusual cleaning tips online. Now with more than four million followers, the social media sensation continues to share cleaning tips as well as product recommendations. Her fans regularly take to dedicated cleaning Facebook pages where they share their own finds, including how to clean oven racks.

Posting on the Mrs Hinch cleaning tips and tricks Facebook page, one user asked for some advice when it came to cleaning oven racks.

Nikita Leigh Gough posted: “Hi, what’s the trick for getting this sparkling.

“I know to soak it in the bath with something.

“What is that something?”

Ovens can get dirty very easily, with grease and grime building up on them.

They need to be cleaned regularly in order to keep on top of the stubborn grease and grime.

Whilst oven racks are tricky and a pain to get clean, over 1,000 group members commented on the post to share their easiest tips.

Of all the comments, using biological washing powder seemed to be most popular.

Pamela Ritchie commented: “Old towel in bottom of bath, run hot water with biological laundry powder, put the racks in to soak overnight. 

“The enzymes in the bio powder eat away grease and burnt on bits, been doing this trick for years now.”

Carolyn Hesketh said: “Biological soap powder.”

Lynne Northfield wrote: “I use a scoop of Ariel biological powder and a scoop of Vanish Oxi with really hot water to melt the granules.

“Leave to soak overnight and it won’t need a lot of scrubbing the next day. Works like magic.”

Jane Thomas added: “I soak in washing powder in the bath.”

Other Mrs Hinch fans suggested using Oven Pride.
