Channel 4’s hit show Escape to the Chateau has brought plenty of guests to Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France. The 19th Century Chateau, owned and renovated by British couple Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree, isn’t just for show… it’s actually open to guests! How much does it cost to stay in Escape to the Chateau castle?
Château de la Motte-Husson is the star of Channel 4 series Escape to the Chateau, and who wouldn’t want to stay in this stunning property?
While Dick, Angel, their two children and Angel’s parents all stay in the castle, the remaining rooms can be rented out.
The castle is mainly used for weddings, but there are other options to choose from.
When you head to the official Château de la Motte-Husson site, there are eight booking options.
However, every single option is sold out and unavailable while the couple play “catch up”.
The site points out the Chateau is currently booked up for weddings for the next two years, so enquiries are closed for the time being.
The wedding packages reportedly range from £19,000 to £38,000 though, so get saving if you’re desperate to tie the knot at the Chateau!
The Chateau can accommodate anything from small, intimate weddings to larger, more extravagant parties, as there’s no space issue with a huge 12 acres of land, a moat, an orangery, outbuildings, stables and 45 rooms.
Otherwise, you can typically expect to spend nearly £6,000 for use of the chateau and some rooms.
The other packages are sold out too, from glamping overnight to gardening days.
These options have been unavailable since summer 2020, by the looks of the website.
Glamping on the grounds of the castle in domes seems to be the most affordable option, ranging between £350 and £600 per night for a couple or a family, so keep your eyes peeled on the site to see if this opens up again.
If you simply want to visit the chateau and spend the day there without sleeping on the property, the Fun and Festivities package would be best for you.
This package normally includes lots of food, drink and a tour of the chateau normally costs £230 per person.
The Garden Day at the Chateau (£75 per person) still offers lots of food and drink but you will be expected to do some manual work.
Escape To The Chateau airs on Channel 4.
